Quality

ISO9001:2000:
Woodway hold ISO9001:2000 accreditation that covers both design and manufacturing procedures within the Company.

Type Approved Product:
The Automotive EMC (ElectroMagnetic Compatibility) Directive 2005/83/EC is primarily concerned with ensuring that the driver's control of a vehicle is not affected by ElectroMagnetic Interference from electrical/electronic equipment installed in vehicles, both original fit and aftermarket fit.

This Directive has been enacted into the law in Great Britain (England, Wales & Scotland) through the Road Vehicles (Construction & Use) Regulations and in Northern Ireland through similar legislation.

Whelen product not supplied through Woodway will not be approved to the Automotive EMC Directive 2005/83/EC (Type Approved) and e11 marked.

As part of the Type Approval Process Woodway has gained 'Conformity Of Production' status from the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA).

Products

LED Warning Systems:
In 1998 Woodway demonstrated high intensity LED directional light heads in amber, blue, green and red to the emergency services. It's low current draw and long service life under difficult conditions offered a look into the future of lighting technology.

Today's LED's provide compact, lightweight, high intensity warning. Light heads are tough, have low current draw and resistant to vibration & moisture. They are available with built in flashers with multiple flash patterns and with synchronisation capability. They are ideal for covert applications where the outer lens may be clear, the lamp colour only being revealed when the light is switched on.

Rated for 100,000 hours operation many lights are supplied with a 5 year warranty.

LED Technology has progressed into light bars with the LIBERTY, FREEDOM & JUSTICE Series. The 'M' Series lightheads & PIONEER LED floodlights demonstrate the latest use of LED technology.
Strobe Warning Systems:
In 1979, Woodway introduced the Whelen strobe beacon to the UK- an event greeted with enthusiasm by the emergency services who had previously relied on relatively poor light output of rotating beacons. The strobe, with its superior lighting efficiency and reliability, offered maximum protection to personnel working in dangerous conditions. Today, Whelen strobe technology is regarded as the most advanced in the world. Strobe power supplies are now microprocessor controlled, its reliability allowing many to carry a five year warranty.
Flood Lighting & CCTV Mast Systems:
To complement our extensive range of visual and audible warning equipment, Woodway pioneered the highly successful Hy-Light vehicle-based floodlighting systems in the mid 80's. These products have evolved into the Night Owl horizontally stowed mast systems, with an option of using vehicle voltage, Metal Halide or PIONEER LED floodlighting as the light source.
Control Systems:
The OPTI-LINK and Micro-Link control systems provides enhanced interfaces between the driver and the vehicle's emergency equipment that overcomes the mounting limitations of 'DIN' sized panels. The large switches and flexible legend design allows customers to individually configure the control panels to their specific needs.
