WOODWAY manufacture under licence the WHELEN FREEDOM lightbar to comply with European regulations and provide non WHELEN options required by the UK and European market. This includes bespoke lengths, lighting configurations and e11 compliance. Used extensively by the professional service such as Fire Authorities and the Highways Agency, all FREEDOM lightbars have Edge® performance and reliability and are made for the rough treatment and long hours that these services demand. The FREEDOM Lightbar is available in 4 variants:
FE ‘ECONOMY’ SERIES:
Economy Series lightbars feature 4 standard Super-LED corner modules with simple all bar operation control. Optional halogen alley, spot, ‘E’ approved brake/tail/turn lights & directional 4 or 12 Super-LED modules. Ideal for ‘amber’ users or customers who require minimal light head selection options. This series of FREEDOM lightbars is used extensively on Fire Appliance and fitted with the optional 100W Lo-Pro speaker. The lightbar is often referred to as the standard Woodway ‘Fire Buy’ lightbar.
FL SERIES:
The most popular model with low current control and 4 standard Super-LED corner modules. Up to an additional 12 Super-LED modules and 4 halogen lights may be added. Other popular options include illuminated signs, steady burn ‘GATSO’ speed camera lights and 8 or 16 character ‘MESSENGER’ variable LED message displays. Smaller length lightbars often use ‘duplex’ light head modules that are split colour allowing more flexibility in the choice of directional warning light options within a limited length lightbar.
FV SERIES:
The High Performance, Super-LED® lightbar with a wide range of options. An external interface unit, the WeCan® Electronic Control Module (ECM), communicates all lightbar operating functions via a 2 conductor data cable. This small cable provides easier overall wiring and lightbar installation. Up to eighteen different programmed warning configurations can be operated using customer supplied switching.
FREEDOM FX SERIES:
Extended corner modules with split colour upper & lower levels. Upper and lower lightbar levels have independent control allowing split colour lightbar configurations. Ideal for dual purpose vehicles required to show either blue or amber lighting, for example a Fire Authority workshop vehicles that will normally use amber lighting but may require occasional use of blue lighting to move through traffic when delivering fuel to Fire Vehicles.
